The Human Infrared Sensor detects infrared radiation emitted by a human or animal body. When a person or warm object moves into its sensing range, it triggers a variation in the infrared radiation.
This sensor is unique in that it only generates an electrical signal when external radiation changes its temperature. Once the temperature stabilizes, it does not emit a signal, so it is only sensitive to a moving human body.
Its applications include body-sensing lights, automatic doors, faucets and stairway lighting systems.
